Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight: Saul Murillo
Sept. 15 - Oct. 15 is National Hispanic Heritage month. During this time, it is important to acknowledge the influence and contribution that Hispanic culture and achievements have had in the United States. We are proud of our Hispanic athletes and will be highlighting them throughout the month. We asked hispanic varsity athlete Saul Murillo about his culture and experience.

Q: What inspired you to become a varsity athlete?
A: What inspired me to play varsity was the opportunity for me to improve myself within my most favorite hobby and to have the opportunity to represent my school.
Q: Do you have any role models that inspire you at school or at home?
A: My family has always been a supportive pillar for me growing up. They have always guided me through situations that I've struggled with. My community in Tucson has always taught me new things about myself and the surrounding world around me growing up.
Q: Tell me about your family and community growing up.
A: Being part of the Hispanic community is something I always enjoy. Having that ability to mutually share experiences and those moments that we can look back and relate to them is indeed a nice feeling.
Q: Has being Hispanic affected the way you approach your studies or esports?
Being Hispanic has definitely influenced my work ethic for esports. Something I have always been taught is to grind and to put all my effort into something I enjoy. Having that mindset has indeed been helpful for me in my studies and games.
Q: What are your goals for after graduation?
A: My goals after graduation is to able develop new skills and to advance further into new horizons.
